Dr. Galia Leonard is a preeminent head and neck surgeon who has been an assistant professor in the Department Of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Washington for the last eight years. Dr. Leonard is originally from Armenia where she graduated from the Kirov Medical Institute in Yereban, Armenia earning both a dental and a medical degree. She then attended the prestigious Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency at the University for Advanced Medical Education in Moscow where she also received a PhD. Dr. Leonard then practiced for two years as a cranio-facial surgeon at Moscow’s St. Vladimir’s Children’s Hospital.

Following this training, Dr. Leonard then emigrated to the United States where she completed her training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Washington. Dr. Leonard’s chief assignment has been at Harbor View Medical Center where she is focused on major head and neck trauma, and reconstructive surgery with implants and grafts. She has also been active in research and teaching at the Dental School and University Hospital. Dr. Leonard has published numerous articles,and has lectured extensively on implants, augmentation grafts,sinus lifts, orthognathic surgery, temporomandibular joint surgery, and cleft lip and palate surgery.
